Dr. Harry L. Jones, of Kansas City, son of Mr. and Mrs. T. C. Jones, of west of town, and who is well and favorably known in Saline, was married Saturday evening to Miss Winnifred Reid, of Kansas City, a cousin of Mrs. John A. Jones of this city and a charmiong young lady. The wedding was attended by the parents and brother from here. The Kansas City Star gives the following account of the marriage:
The marriage of Miss Winifred Reid and Dr. Harry Lander Jones was solemnized at 8:30 o'clock last evening at the home of the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Reid. The Rev. F. M. Burton of Jefferson City, a cousing of the bride, officiated. The bride was attended by her sister, Miss Frances Reid, as maid of honor, and the groom by Dr. Cleveland H. Shutte of St. Louis as best man. Before the entrance of the bridal party, Miss Jessie Palmer sang "Constancy" by Weber. Master James Speed Reid, the small nephew of the bride, and little Susan Jelley carried white ribbons and formed an aisle through which the bridal party passed. The bride wore an embroidered gown over white satin, trimmed with handmade lace and pearl passementrie and carried a shower bouquet of bride's roses. Here only ornament was a diamond and pearl pendant, the gift of the groom. Her veil was caught with clusters of orange blossoms. The maid of honor wore a gown of shell pink charmeuse satin with an over drapery of pompadour marquisette in pannier style. She carried an arm bouquet of pink roses.
Assisting Mr. and Mrs. Reid were Mr. and Mrs. Burton McCune Reid of Springfield, Ill., Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Calvin, Mr. and Mrs. Charles H. Nave, Mrs. E. M. King of Appleton City, Mo., Mrs. George B. Sudner of Lee's Summit, Mo.; Miss Marguerit McMillian, Miss Fern Fowler, Miss Dorothy Shepard, Miss Marguerite Slutz, Miss Louise Hodges, Miss Nell Gibbs of Eureka Springs, Ark.
Doctor and Mrs. Jones will be at home after November 19th at 1005 Holly. |
