Death of Sam Myers
Sam Myers of Hebron, son of Charles and Isabel Myers, was born June 19, 1878. He died Tuesday afternoon, January 12, 1937, at the university hospital at Ohama, aged 58 years, 6 months and 23 days. Mr. Myers had a mastoid operation in November and was getting along all right till an abscess formed in his head which was the cause for another operation.
He returned home January 4. He had been home a week when he suddenly got worse and was rushed back to the hospital, where he passed away. He leaves his wife, five sons, Howard of Deshler, Sam Jr., Louis, John and Gerald of Heron, a daughter Alta Mae, at home, five brothers, Levi Myers of Hebron, Carl Myers of Los Angeles, Cal., Winnie Myers of Hutchinson, Kas., Milt Myers of Nevada, Mo., and Ernie of Kansas and two sisters, Mrs. Josie Presnell of Deshler and Mrs. Musa Haak of Bruning.
Sam had been the janitor at the courthouse the last two years. Funeral services were at the Methodist church in Hebron and burial was in the Hebron cemetery. |
