Ablona Nielsen was born in Denmark on March 16, 1854, and died at her home one mile norht of Boelus on February 26, 1928, being 74 years, lacking a few days.
In 1878 she came to America, coming directly to Dannebrog, Nebraksa, and was united in marriage the same year with Carl Hermansen. She spent her entire married life in this community with the exception of one year which was spent in Julesburg, Colorado.
For a number of years them family made their home in Boelus and the past 14 years they have resided on their farm one mile north of town.
Mrs. Hermansen had been very ill for some time and the past seven months she was bedfast, suffering from cancer of the stomach. She suffered intensely for many months but always bore her sufferings with patience and fortitude. She was a true christian in every respect and a devoted, affectionate wife and mother and a true and sincere friend and neighbor. Her entire life was spent in doing good, always ready and willing to lend a hand to one in need. To know her was to love her and she will be sadly missed, not only by her family, but by her host of friends.
Mr. and Mrs. Hermansen were the parents of eight children, two sons having gone before. Those surviving are her husband, Carl Hermansen, four daughters, Mrs. Olds of Greybull, Wyo.; Mrs. Fred Beier of Grand Island, Nebraska; Mrs. Louis Mogensen of North Platte, Nebraska, and Marie; two sons, Charles Hermansen of North Platte and Holver of Green River, Wyoming, and a number of grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted at 10 o'clock Wednesday afternoon from the church in Boelus and interment was made in the Nysted cemetery. Rev. Pedersen conducted the services. The floral tributes were frofuse and very beautiful.
The sympathy of the community is extended tot eh bereaved family in this, their hour of sorrow. Especially tot eh husband who will miss her greatly. |
